A jolly ladies-only tea extravaganza for Ritesh's mom, on occasion of her birthday, at the Vintage Tea Leaf in Long Beach. With the mom and Suzanne, all of us thoroughly enjoying the get up , surroundings and seasonal merriment. 2.37pm - Suzanne pouring the first cup of tea - a nicely subtle plum tea
3.04pm - a cheesy tomato-artichoke soup, much welcomed as we were all starving, and very tasty indeed.
3.30pm - English tea sandwiches w/ an assortment of cheeses plus a variety of additions, from marmelade to truffle oil, surrounding a salad w/ artichoke, pear, blackberries - and more cheese! Gorgonzola this time...
4.07pm - a cranberry scone w/ Devon cream and lemon curd, plus a nicely moist peppermint cake. I think we were on to the rose tea at this point. We also had some English Christmas pudding tea - in fact, we had so much tea I couldn't sleep at night and found myself bouncing off the walls at 2.30am... :)
9.49pm - after dinner, I finally got around to chocolate-dipping my marzipan cookies - and as there was some chocolate leftover (fabulous Rapunzel chocolate, the same organic fair trade brand we get in Germany), I cleaned out the bowl with pieces of the fresh pineapple that Ritesh had just cut up. Better than the cookies, if you ask me!

Petra, thanks for all the fun. I can't wait until next year so we can do it again!
Glad you enjoyed it! Maybe next time we can do the 11.30am sitting, so yours truly can get some sleep the night after? :)
