Will be back soon, promise!
Meanwhile, to tie you over, some of my favorite food pix from the dark pre-blog times... this is from our trip to New Orleans last year, the fabulous and beignets and cafe au lait made with chicory coffee at the deservedly world-famous Cafe du Monde.
I'm a big fan of this place, but hey - I don't mind ending up all powdered in sugar. Ritesh was somewhat less happy about that...
this was at a gelato place somewhere on Magazine Street, after a leisurely walk through the Lower Garden District... don't remember the name of the place, but boy do I remember the flavors: from top right clock-wise, this is strawberry-balsamico sorbet, chocolate-chili, pear-gorgonzola (!), and honey-fig. We were contemplating moving to New Orleans after this - seriously!

and on our last day, to recover from the sights of an early morning Katrina-tour, the Sunday Jazz brunch at Muriel's Creole Restaurant on Jackson Square: this was their amazing gumbo, plus Ritesh's bloody Mary, and my Brandy Milk Punch. Gotta love New Orleans, but the way Katrina and its aftermath has been handled (or rather is not being handled) is shameful.
