7.56am - bread w/ hazelnut-chocolate-coconut spread, fresh raspberries, fresh squeezed grapefruit juice, at home

8.01am - bread w/ Nadi's mom's home made jam, plus walnuts, at home

And this is the place of a totally out of the ordinary, extravagant team lunch - officially a welcome lunch for Beatrice, Cecy and Ernesto, but also, as we were to find out, a farewell lunch for Scott and Louis. Other team members in attendance were Amanda, Ryan, Kimberly, Frank and yours truly.

just a tad bit on the Vegas side of Asia

but the food wasn't bad at all - on the contrary...
12.27pm - black sesame rice crackers w/a tomato chutney style dip

12.35pm - passion fruit lassi w/ kaffir lime, lemongrass and ginger

12.36pm - Crispy Imperial rolls w/ chicken, Louis's first Thai iced tea ever, and Frank's lime-mint squash

12.38pm - Thai coconut chicken dip with more black sesame rice crackers.

12.44pm Thai chicken satay w/ peanut sauce

12.47pm - Hanoi spiced Chilean sea bass - Frank really wanted this one

12.51pm - festive saffron cashew rice - Kimberly lobbied for this one

12.53pm - Princess chicken (tempura w/ a palm sugar glaze), Beatrice's choice

12.56pm - caramel shrimp w/ lots of red onion - Cecy and I had our eyes on this one

12.57pm - wok-fried bok choy - Ernesto's choice

12.58pm - sambal eggplant - I think Ryan suggested this?

12.59pm - my plate w/ some of everything. Note the cool fork.

12.59pm - Cecy insisted I take a picture of her plate, too - much more organized than mine...

1.12pm - still eating! some pad thai showed up towards the end

the dizzyingly high ceiling above us, while waiting for dessert

1.35pm - white tea w/goji berries and marigold, shared w/ Ryan

1.37pm - Viennese chocolate cake (seriously molten on the inside), w/ coffee ice cream - Scott's pick

1.37pm - a trio of cremes brulees: mango, spiced chocolate and sweet corn. Guess who wanted these?

1.37pm - Cecy's favorite, which she really, really, REALLY didn't want to share with anyone, but then did anyway: Caramelized banana custard cake, with malted creme anglaise. I was surprised how good this was - the lightest, fluffiest banana cake ever!

incense on the way out

paper lanterns, on the way out

And this, my friends, was it for the rest of the day. Seriously.
